A breif urology history

 I am a 33 year old female who lives in paisley I was born with bilateral kidney reflux but it wasn’t picked up on till I was 3 year old after many utis and kidney infections requiring many hospital stays but by the time it was fond the damage had been done to my right kidney which was severely scarred. At age 4 the infections were getting worse and worse so was the kidney reflux so age 4 I had my first bladder surgery I had my ureters Criss crossed so my left ureter went to my right kidney and my right ureter to my left kidney to try to stop the bilateral kidney reflux but it didn’t work as well as expected. I spent quiet a lot of my childhood in and out of hospital with infections often needing iv antibiotics which continued into my teens At age 19 I was having more infections and getting a lot of back pain around my right side and I was referred to a urologist and after some tests we found out my right kidney was only working at 2% and was probably the cause of the increased i...

my story so far

In 2015 I was admitted to hospital with a kidney infection which I have suffered from since been 3 years old I was born with bilateral so kidney reflux so utis and kidney infections where a big part of my childhood and lots of time in hospital  So in 2015 I was in hospital on iv antibiotics and all of a sudden I was unable to pass any urine or just a little dribble after two days of this it got to the point where I had 2 liters in my bladder so while I was in I was taught to do intermittent self catheterisation which was extremely painful and difficult to pass the catheter after a week in hospital I was sent home doing ISC while I waited to have some tests  But after about 6 months it got to the stage where I couldn't pass the intermittent catheter at all and was in and out with infections needing iv antibiotics I then got fitted with a urethral catheter which was just 10 times worse and the pain was so bad I wasn't sleeping and yeah be night the pain was so sever ...

struggling to keep going

Hi everyone so it's been a while and very hectic so since my last post not much has been happening due to the COVID 19 virus hope your all staying safe sadly I have been having really big issues with infections since January I have had 25 infections UTIs and kidney infections I have had 27 lots of antibiotics and hospital admissions and right no I am struggling so much to keep going infection after infection is so draining I am struggling to keep going and just to make it through the day is ridiculously hard but I am trying  now with infections I seem to pass out get extremely weak cant to eat my body is really under so much pressure and when you have a infection after infection you just don't want to keep going its gets you so down what if this is me for the rest of my life I only have one kidney and all these infections are going to damage it which is just ho my right kidney failed due to all these infections since been 3 years old I have even bought sick bags ...

it's been a while

Hi everyone, So it's been a while and here's why so bare with me  In the 29th of May I went in for my 2nd attempt at a hysterectomy thankfully it all went smoothly I woke up to my Stephen my cousin Sarah and my daddy and it was just what I needed I was in a lot off pain it was extremely painful to get up and down       (After surgery while I was still out) .            (When I finally woke up                    Enjoying the PCA) I was in for 3 days was so happy to be home been in a maternity hospital when you have just had a hysterectomy and have no children is not nice icsoent a week with my cousin Sarah we watched movies all week we made me a  little bed on the sofa and my dad came round everyday to . .                  (Family photo) I was ok for a while then all of a sudden I was crying at every...

Some exciting news

Some big big news !!!! So on the 29th of may I will be going in to my local hospital again to have a full radical hysterectomy as we had planned for last year but had a sever asthma attack and needed ICU and a ventilator for 12 hours After months of waiting and testing. I will be having  my total radical hysterectomy on the 29th of may terrified is not the word to describe how I am feeling it's going to be a massive recovery and a painful one at that So many things Are so scary my body is going to change so abruptly since I am having a total hysterectomy and a bilateral  salpingo oopherectomy I will have a surgically induced menopause I have had 3 synthetic menopases and they where so harsh on the body I have no idea how it will hit me till it does and these aren't like the synthetic menopases this scares me so much how much is it going to change need and my body I don't want to be moody it snappy all the time just hope hrt helps a lot I feel ...

The next step in my journey

So as some of you know last August I went in to hospital for my full hysterectomy but sadly when I got put to sleep I went in to what we thought was anaphylactic shock and needed a ventilator for 12 hours with my lungs only working at 20% so I was to unstable for surgery    But got postponed untill I had an allergy test so on the 25th if April I had my allergy test lots of scratches and needles hurt like buggery 30 different drugs       .                                                                                        Tankfully I had no reactions at all it turns out I had a massive asthma attack so now if I need any surgery I will have to have steroids increase the use of my inhaler and do nebu...

So here's an update

Hi guys so sorry I haven't been around there has been so much going on so here is an update for you So since I went in for my hysterectomy last August and went in to anaphylaxana shock I haven't been coping well at all had more hospital visits and admissions                                                           Sadly we lost my great grandma in December she was amazing taught me so much she was like a mum to me every time I was in hospital she would be there every time she came she brought ( Smarties, grapes and sunnd D ) I miss her so much she was my rock we spoke almost every day she knew what to say to me to help me get through something  difficult I am struggling so much without my Gran i still wait for her to phone and I still go to phone her I have no idea how I am going to get through all of this without her ...
